GATES is seeking a Sr. Art / Associate Creative Director to lead and inspire our creative team in Los Angeles, CA. The role requires close collaboration with the Founder & Executive Creative Director, Cecilia Gates. You will be responsible for directing creative based on the brand vision as defined by the Creative Director. Ensure that visual communication standards are met across all channels. Collaborate with creative, editorial and account teams to create innovative, compelling work that balance art and commerce. Our growing team produces engaging, high-quality assets in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.




RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the creative process from brief to production

- Come up with new, big ideas that meet client business and strategy objectives while balancing the needs of the intended audience

- Concept, develop and execute integrated marketing activations across all channels

- Collaborate with Account, Producers and Editorial teams on campaign development

- Always bring new ideas to the table through experimentation and iteration

- Help clarify creative goals, lead photo and video shoots, manage production assets, workflow, and post-production

- Present client deliverables with clear POV and explanation of creative vision

- Manage all print and digital production

- Prioritize all projects to ensure on-time delivery

- Explore, discover, and manage client requirements, feedback, and expectations

- Work closely with our Account team to help pitch business building ideas to our clients that help win new business

- Lead, inspire, challenge, and mentor internal Art Directors and Graphic Designers

- Foster relationships with photographers, stylists, illustrators and all outside collaborators

- Constant improvement of internal creative processes

QUALIFICATIONS

- BFA, MFA or equivalent with meticulous typography and Art Direction

- 9+ years experience in Beauty, Fashion, Retail, Packaging, Print

- A robust background with extensive experience in a client facing, creative leadership role in an agency and/or in-house environment

- Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, career path guidance and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on budget and schedule

- Ability to analyze content trends and audience insights and translate those to new branded content opportunities

- Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations

- Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need. Timelines, budgets, and availabilities change—we need someone who can roll with it

- Fluent in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

This studio will support their world class customer experience while telling their story in a contemporary, emotion-oriented fashion.



They want a graphic designer to play a key role on this growing team to collaborate and drive visuals across channels.


  • Concept and design graphic assets across site, social media platforms, and social ad campaigns

  • Design and execute custom original illustrations that can support both flat and motion creative projects

  • Draft, design and animate (in photoshop and/or after effects) graphics for social and site assets, interactive projects and short format content

  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and other product deliverables to effectively communicate designs and product requirements


Required Experience:


  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in multimedia design and graphic design

They want to hire a content-focused art director who is at home on a set and has experience visually guiding customers along their digital shopping journey. This role is fast-paced, requires quick execution and high EQ creative collaboration.



  • You will translate strategic social and conceptual editorial storytelling into working creative assets.

  • You will provide on-set photo art direction.

  • You will apply current relevant trends in fashion, entertainment, digital, culture, design, and art to an overall creative strategy.

First, they plan to identify highly engaged audiences across owned channels by developing interest-based content tailored to that audience. Then they’ll establish a visually consistent, top-of-mind presence that triggers surprise and delight.


They want to hire a Project Manager to play a key role on this growing team to drive creative and production across channels.


In this new, highly creative and production oriented department this role resembles a managing editor at a publisher. 

 

  •  You will work with outside content creators (writers/photographers/influencers) to ensure work is delivered on time and on brief. 

  • You will work with eCom site merchants, you’ll work with stylists, you’ll work with creative artists, you’ll work with social media editors. You will be the bridge for everyone to stay on brief and on time.

  • You will manage timelines and deliverables on projects involving external creative talent.

  • You will meet with various departments within this large brand organization and vet creative needs based on dates, deliverables and budgets.

Vice President of Social Editorial

This position reports to the SVP Brand Creative for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). This new role will oversee all brand social and editorial that is created and executed through our global internal agency model within SPT. This role will evangelize the “One Sony” philosophy and establish the social editorial brand vision, voice, strategy for all Sony IP that will be pushed globally from this centralized model while helping build infrastructure, pipelines and protocol across the Global Brand Management Group and Creative Centers around the world. The VP will provide direction and strategy, build a team, create efficiencies, outline capabilities, source appropriate talent that services various business units across SPT.

 

This individual will have a breadth of talent ranging in various areas of expertise- editorial, social publishing, content, digital strategy, analytics and insights, communications, managing a social studio, etc. always with an eye towards future capabilities and opportunities. She/ he will be adept at spearheading new editorial, social, content and strategy endeavors within corporate environments and the nuances and complexities of international business practices. She/ he is adept at running an international team.

 

She/ he is a passionate advocate for collaborating across all Sony businesses and is the international liaison as it relates to everything social. She/ he is adept at creating business models across brand that can scale, eliminate inefficiencies, maximize capabilities and ultimately elevate and unify our Sony brand voice across the globe in order to strengthen and scale our presence in the market.

   

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Craft the editorial brand voice as it pertains to social publishing across Sony IP

  • Develop and execute global social strategy across platforms on behalf of IP

  • Continuously analyze metrics and research latest social trends/technologies to evolve the voice and strategy

  • Work closely with the team to build, deploy, track & optimize social media campaigns to successfully execute the defined strategy
