Senior Designer at HexClad Cookware (LA)

HexClad is one of the fastest-growing premium cookware brands in the world — known for its patented hybrid technology, bold design language, and a product-forward brand aesthetic that bridges performance, culture, and modern cooking. The company’s creative culture moves quickly: small in-house teams, a high degree of autonomy, and a shared drive to make premium design scalable across every channel — from Amazon and Costco to global DTC markets.

We’re looking for a Senior Designer who can live in two worlds at once:

  1. The design systems that power a fast-moving DTC business, and

  2. The big campaign and partnership moments that define the brand’s creative identity.

You’ll partner closely with Design Director and Creative Director to elevate HexClad’s visual storytelling — from Black Friday campaigns and product launches to co-branded capsules like HexClad × Brie Larson’s Party People Cookbook or F1-style partnerships.

This is a role for an expert generalist: someone fluent in both craft and systems, equally comfortable building a scalable toolkit as designing a hero moment.

What You’ll Do

Design Systems & Execution

  • Build, evolve, and maintain brand and campaign design systems that can flex across DTC, Amazon, and international markets.

  • Translate high-level creative direction into toolkits, templates, and guidelines for offshore design pods to execute at scale.

  • Create consistency across channels while tailoring visuals for surface-specific performance (e.g. paid ads, Amazon storefronts, email, print).

Campaign & Brand Moments

  • Concept and design for major brand tentpoles (BFCM, Mother’s Day, End-of-Summer) and partnership activations (talent collabs, cookbook launches, F1 tie-ins).

  • Develop co-branded capsule systems — combining HexClad’s dark, premium aesthetic with partner style guides and campaign identities.

  • Support directors in defining new visual directions for the brand as it expands globally.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, ecomm, and international teams to ensure creative aligns with performance goals and brand strategy.

  • Collaborate daily with director on brand-level work and manage offshore designers through clear systems, specs, and toolkits.

  • Present creative ideas with clarity — able to articulate design logic to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.

Autonomy & Problem Solving

  • Operate independently on assigned projects; know when to push, when to ask, and when to take ownership.

  • Balance creative ambition with the realities of high-volume ecomm production — finding elegance and order in fast-moving, iterative work.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8 years of experience in brand, in-house, or studio settings (DTC or consumer product background ideal).

  • A systems thinker with a proven ability to build scalable design frameworks that extend across multiple channels.

  • A portfolio that shows dark, premium, product-forward storytelling — clean, elevated, sophisticated; less “poppy/bright beauty,” more engineered design and material focus.

  • Fluent across formats and surfaces — print, OOH, digital, paid, motion, and on-site design.

  • Understands the balance of brand and performance — how to optimize creative without losing brand integrity.

  • Communicates clearly and collaborates naturally — comfortable interfacing with stakeholders and guiding offshore contributors.

  • Self-directed and proactive; thrives in environments with autonomy and speed rather than rigid process.

The Creative Culture

HexClad’s in-house team runs lean, fast, and collaboratively:

  • Small HQ crew (Design Director + Sr. Designer) supported by offshore pods in retention, paid, and UX.

  • High autonomy — ideas move quickly, approvals are light, and impact is visible.

  • Low bureaucracy, high trust — ideal for designers leaving rigid orgs who want to actually make work happen.

  • In-person collaboration is key — four days a week in our Arts District HQ (28,000 sq. ft., shared building with Spotify).

  • You’ll work side-by-side with directors, helping define what HexClad looks and feels like as it evolves from premium cookware brand to global lifestyle brand.

Creative Benefits

This role is a bridge between execution and leadership — the next step before an ACD title. You’ll:

  • Shape a global brand aesthetic that’s being actively defined.

  • Design for every surface — from billboards to Amazon tiles.

  • See your work live at scale (and fast).

  • Be part of a small team with a large creative footprint.
