I recently placed an executive after a long process where we built a good professional relationship.

On his first day in the office, he picked up the phone to thank me. He also posted the obligatory “I started a new job” note on LinkedIn and tagged me. That post gathered more than 350 likes. Clearly he’s someone people are rooting for, and I can see why. 

I really appreciated his gestures. It was a moment of gratitude that made me feel good, and it reminded me to extend the same courtesy to others I build business relationships with.
