Jr./Associate Art Director at Zappos (LA)

Zappos is a pioneering, market-leading eCommerce company transforming their brand image by investing in a creative studio in downtown Los Angeles (at The Row).

This studio will support their world class customer experience while telling their story in a contemporary, emotion-oriented fashion.

They want to hire a content-focused jr. art director who is at home on a set and has experience visually guiding customers along their digital shopping journey. This role is fast-paced, requires quick execution and high EQ creative collaboration.

  • You will translate strategic social and conceptual editorial storytelling into working creative assets.

  • You will provide on-set photo art direction.

  • You will apply current relevant trends in fashion, entertainment, digital, culture, design, and art to an overall creative strategy.

  • You will translate content strategy and conceptual editorial storytelling into brand creative that performs.  

  • You will manage multiple projects, partner relationships, and corresponding deadlines.

  • You will balance data-driven creative decisions with a style POV.

  • You will work cross-functionally with a larger business operation (and teams) always looking for efficiencies in how to produce quality imagery with all the necessary elements.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years set direction and/or design background

  • Practical background in applying graphics and photography that solves problems for clients

  • Lifestyle campaigns for national brands

  • Defining style guides that cross various channels, product categories, and seasons

  • UX a plus
