POPSUGAR seeks an experienced Head of Talent to lead our Talent Department, which operates out of Los Angeles and New York.
Manage the Talent Department staff and it’s overall operations
Work with senior executives across POPSUGAR business units
Oversee talent casting/paid booking for all video content, from shortform online to longform TV and film, across editorial, native and branded projects.
Oversee sourcing and casting/paid booking talent and influencers for event-based activations
Lead POPSUGAR’s talent strategy by identifying, structuring and negotiating partnerships with talent that advances POPSUGAR’s business and brand
Oversee sourcing and paid/unpaid booking experts with specific expertise (news, fashion, food, beauty, fitness/wellness, parenting, DIY, etc.) for POPSUGAR programming opportunities
Continually monitor the talent landscape to find and build relationships with up-and-coming talent ahead of the competition
Understand POPSUGAR’S brands and projects, and effectively pitch talent to participate on sustainable business terms
An eye for identifying, and a passion for engaging with, talent at all levels, from A-list to the newly-discovered
A natural leader who enjoys being part of a team, embraces POPSUGAR’s culture and has a high degree of empathy
A feel for the POPSUGAR brand, and a knack for sourcing talent that fits the brand
A feel for creative projects and the right talent for a project
The ability to handle a large volume of work on a timely, deadline-driven basis, through organizational, prioritization, management, and multitasking skills
The ability to persuasively pitch talent and talent management on POPSUGAR’s brand and opportunities
The ability, working with executives, to structure and close talent deals on fair but sustainable terms
8-10 years of relevant talent experience
Strong relationships and credibility with representatives of all levels of talent, from micro-influencers to A-List celebrities, including agents, managers and PR reps
Expertise in casting and negotiating for talent at all levels
Expertise handling talent communication and outreach.
