Creative Director at Day One Agency (LA)

Day One is a creative communications agency launched in 2014 by combining the best pieces of traditional public relations, digital & social media agencies.

Day One works with the world’s leading brands to shape, share & fuel stories that stop people in their scrolls. By ignoring tradition they create campaigns that impact culture as well as business results. They represent a growing client roster including American Express, Nike, Chipotle, Bacardi, Sonos, and Facebook.

With a majority of the agency based in NYC, there is currently a small team of ten in DTLA. The stakeholders are committed to growing their west coast business by expanding current client work and partnering with new clients. They see this creative hire as a key step in the future growth of the agency.

While some of their work is “always-on” content as social AOR for a few major brands (Amex & Chipotle), the role is not limited to social content creative direction. The right creative will both elevate the current social-focused work, but also look to their evolving client needs and executions as the marketing (and comms) landscapes change rapidly.

Creatively, you

-are an experienced designer.

-are a conceptual art director and content creator.

-have a strong point of view on visual identity and design.

-work at the speed of digital. You can work quickly and see an idea through from conception to launch in a matter of days/hours not (just) weeks.

-have a passion for trends in culture and technology along with a deep understanding of emerging platforms and media channels.

-get how creative works on social.

-thrive on working hand in hand with strategists.

-don’t lean entirely on producers to make it happen.

-have a back-pocket filled with talented designers and content creators you could call on a moment’s notice to execute paid creative projects and contracts.

-would be inspired by the opportunity to lead the creative direction for a new office space in LA.

Professionally, you

-have agency experience.

-have lead the creation of imagery and campaigns for a nationally recognizable brand on social channels.

-can be an inspiring mentor to bi-coastal designers.

-value, at this stage in your career, a leadership opportunity to manage smart, driven, talented creatives that thirst for inspiration and career growth.

-are truly interested in working at a “small agency” that is scrappy and experiencing growth.
